Ikenna Christian Okoli is a legal scholar and lecturer in the Faculty of Law, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, with expertise in corporate law, taxation and commercial regulation. He holds a Master of Laws degree in Law of Business Organisation from the Department of Corporate and Commercial Law, University of Nigeria, graduating with a perfect CGPA of 5.0/5.0.
His doctoral research examines the implications of Nigeria’s Tax Reform Acts for the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals 1, 3 and 4—No Poverty, Good Health and Well-being, and Quality Education. This research reflects his sustained interest in the relationship between taxation, public policy, social welfare and sustainable development. Beyond legal scholarship, he is the author of The Change Begins With Me, a work that demonstrates his broader intellectual and social engagement.
Ikenna teaches Company and Partnership Law and Law of Taxation at the undergraduate level. He has supervised numerous research projects in areas including corporate liability, mergers and acquisitions, financial technology, cryptocurrency regulation, corporate insolvency, transfer pricing and the taxation of Nigeria’s digital economy.
He has authored more than 20 scholarly publications appearing in reputable local and international journals. He is also an active contributor to academic and professional discourses, having chaired the Tax Session at the 2024 Nigerian Bar Association Section on Business Law Eastern Zone Conference and served as a discussant during the Enugu Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association Law Week.
Ikenna is a member of the Corporate Law Research Group, University of Nigeria, which executed the TETFund National Research Fund 2019 project titled Appraisal of the Impacts of Changes in Securities Laws on Capital Market Development in Nigeria from 1999 to 2019. Through his teaching, research, publications and participation in specialised legal forums, he continues to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of legal scholarship, policy development and professional practice in Nigeria.
